(note: I intend for this content to grow as I place my musings and observations on the current state of SEO in the Philippines the way I see it. I will try to be as objective as possible and present the history and the ideology of the growing SEO industry in the Philippines. I also intend to interview and exchange ideas with other up and coming SEO’s in the country as I find myself in the midst of all this chaos and beauty presented by Google.)
SEO in the Philippines is fast growing. I remember back in 2004 I was just one of the avid bloggers who decided to work for a BPO company and worked with a seven thousand per month payday.
Honestly I didn’t really know much about SEO that time I just trusted my gut feel and decided to explore new horizons.
But now Philippine SEO’s are being known in the world with some, being mentioned in SEOmoz and by other well known Western SEO’s.
SEO in the philippines also opened a lot of opportunites to filipinos who want to learn.
I’ve heard of stories of former office assistants learning PPC and becoming well known in the world of SEM.
I also heard of lone SEO’s who started learning about it when rebuked by westerners as he overheard the conversation between them in a coffee house. He looked at it as a challenge and learned the ropes. He then spearheaded the development of the SEO Organization in the Philippines.
The number of BPO’s who once started from creating call center agents eventually gave way to link-builders and writers that opened the flood gates for more potential.
In short SEO in the philippines gave power to those who are willing to learn and to understand the how’s and why’s of search marketing.
