On reading about Edgar Jopson

Posted on February 1, 2008 with No Comments

I’m reading a book about Edgar Jopson (Edjop) a student activist back in the 60’s.
The book was written by Benjamin Pimentel.
I haven’t finished reading it but then i noticed that most problems facing the youth today are almost the same as before…
There are the moderates and the radicals (though not as staunchly supported nowadays).

The youth of their time were looking for ways and means and reasons for the problems and difficulties of their time aside from the popular sentiment and the success of then peoples revolution in China. Some great leaders placed their trust to a marxist structure having the maoist line of thinking.

I saw a movie about a ghetto that was once a project of the government of Brazil. All the poor people were placed in this ghetto. The main idea in doing so is to separate the rich from the poor, the literate from the illiterate and the barbarians from the civilized.

Posted on January 31, 2008 with No Comments

A specter is haunting the Philippines today.

In this age of microchip technology where almost everyone is dependent on computers and the internet we have come to a position of unequal opportunities for our children. To those that are adept at understanding the complexities of a computer and the power of information presented by the internet, they shall be aptly called gifted. While those that are inept and incapable of realizing the power of those above shall be relegated to the dustbins of history.

Why I choose not to vote

Posted on January 29, 2008 with No Comments

I sent a txt message to my friends and told them that im not going to vote.
because of the following reasons:

1. The people who are going to supervise it are the same people who orchestrated GMA’s way to presidency last 2004.

2. The elections are going to be held under the GMA government.

For one I refuse to recognize this government, other than that I honestly think that nothing good will come out of the current Comelec as it is today. So why bother voting when the next thing you know your ballots are going to be used to count the asshole of a candidate you sincerely detest?
