Just a bit of warning before reading this post. If you are a cat lover take heed that you may not like what I’m going to write otherwise read on and continue hating me. ^_^
First and foremost I respect cat lovers In fact in my house we have three cats which my mom cooks for daily and have always been a part of the family.
But if you ask me if I like cats. The answer is no.
I am a dog lover and never a cat lover so to speak. They might be cute and cuddly but no I am not at ease with them.
Which brings to my attention the curious case of the U.P. Serial Cat Killer.
Apparently this “cat hater” kills and tortures cats for fun and If you ask me I think he really deserves to be punished, but not after other people are condemned too.
You see I do not agree with what he’s doing In fact I detest such behavior. I think that hurting helpless creatures is cruel and inhuman. Yet I believe we’re missing the point here.
We blame the kid who hurts animals, but we don’t blame the expectant mother who smokes everyday while carrying her child in her womb.
We ask the kid to be punished while we allow murderers and torturers in the government walk around and stay in office.
We cry justice for the life of the poor cat but we do not cry for the lives of the people who are trying to make this country better nor do we take heed of our overseas filipino workers who in the hundreds die each year to bring food to their families in the country.
You know what I think?
People who are judging this kid reeks of poor judgment, If they have the veracity to be angry about a cat being mauled to death then why not the bigger picture.
Oh I get the idea, it is because they are “cat lovers” and not “filipino/filipina lovers”.
There’s a term about that and I think everybody will agree.
HYPOCRITES
But yes they justify it by saying “You get to care about a cat being killed because you love a cat and everything else is a waste of time.”
Tell you what you’re right.
But I don’t see the point how you’re able to deduce what is right and what is wrong while missing out what’s in front of you.
Thats’ what makes this country sick.
Thats’ what makes this country move backward.
Let us make an example of this cat killer but let us also make an example of ourselves.

I posted a comment in the same blog about the UP serial cat killer. I saw your "Cat lovers beware" link but I didn't pay any attention until a few days later when I found out we had the same reactions. I felt relieved that there are people who still manage to see things in the proper perspective…

These are my thoughts on the matter –
I hope those who went to the extent of writing a petition also manifest the same reactions each time a dog is eaten in a drinking session or game is shot down by a hunter just for the machismo of it or a human life is sacrificed in a political killing. I don’t like Candare’s shameful and vicious act but I am also appalled by the selective application of morals to Candare’s earth-shaking transgression and the equally vicious reactions of bleeding hearts.
