Razorback
Wolfgang
Last wednesday December 10, 2008 I was able to watch Wolfgang and Razorback at eastwood city and one thing’s for sure, it did revive the rocker in me!
As of late, because of lack of good music (that is rock music) I wasn’t able to enjoy my existence, as my officemates would require me to listen to hip-hop all the time, placing the dial to wave 89.1 fm and listen to all the hip-hopness all day long realizing that I’ve been listening to the same old shit over and over again for more than 2 months already.
I have nothing against hip-hop really, and I do respect their creativiy as all artists are to respect everyone but when you come to think about it just give me a beat (tugish tagish) and give me a rhyme (yo,yo,yo) and then I’m already a rapper. Ermm where’s the riffs? where’s the creativity with the drums? where’s the power screams where most people would want to do when they are tired of everything?
Hip-hop doesn’t offer this in fact what it can only offer is a simple tune that one can listen to and then it becomes a classic. Its good yeah but its tiresome, but its good music specially when one is making love (harhar) Perhaps my view of creativity is not something akin to making beats to a synthesizer drum, rather creativity to say the least created from a simple hitting of a cymbal to the overdrone of the whole drum set.
So going back to Razorback and Wolfgang plus the opening salvo that was powerspoonz who respectively earned their place in the music arena with their masterful beats I would say I have to listen more to their music to judge them completely.)
the place was crowded from hippies of different caste yes caste, because judging from their looks most of them belong to my era or earlier at that sporting barongs while headbanging to the beat of the drums while on the other hand a group of seemingly disciplined individuals in their mid-thirties and having an aura of (I was a headbanger before but nuff said i’m more mature now).
On the other side of the caste were the teenagers who in their life has never heard wolfgang live being in their primary education altogether when the hey-days of rock and roll music was still raging the airwaves. I was glad I still see them at least they’ll get to tell their kids someday that they were still able to listen to real rock not just senseless emo music that brings tears to the eyes. (no offence to emo lovers though)
Thing is I don’t know where I belong. Being in my late twenties I can only headbang to the music while keeping my composure and losing it now and then cursing everybody and enjoying the night with good music.
The feeling is like finding something that was once lost and reliving the wonder of it all over again. It made me want to listen more and search for them again and pray that they become heard once more all over the country and get rid of all this emo bullshit.
So now I present you with wolfgang and razorback!
