I want to sing again… But I don’t have the time…
I remember when I was young I used to play and sing for hours on end.
I dreamt of having a band and playing songs that would change my generation or something to that effect. ;p
Thing is I had a band once back in high school, yes I sang and played my guitar with Gerard (who’s now a full pledge Steve Vai Disciple) Karl (the drunkard) and Tj (the playboy doctor). we played in our high school acquaintance party until when we were supposed to sing My’My by Seven Mary Three my mic was unplugged by the weirdest looking Math teacher Ms. Bunyag for allegedly disturbing the peace (people were jumping to the first tune of our song instant moshpit!)
Until now me and my bandmates haven’t gotten over that episode and its been the topic of discussion over the years…
Moving on, in college I found myself immersed with another band as vocalist singin heavy metal songs of Korn, Deftones, Cheese and Coal Chamber.
We went around bars calling ourselves Eco’s Pendulum based on our favorite author Umberto Eco and his book Foucalts’ Pendulum, sometimes interchanging it with the name Super-symbolic Economy from the book of futurist Alvin Toffler (geeky ayt?)
The band eventually disintegrated after my passion went to Judo and practicing thereafter for sometime, last I heard of my former bandmates (Jecar, Jonathan, Oliver & Jiji) they formed another band having Jecar as the frontman.
After graduating from college I had another band and composed our own songs and named it se7endrop following the penalty of our University on absences (if you get 7 absences you’re dropped automatically from class).
Before officially leaving for Manila I managed to sing some songs and record it in my computer and uploaded them in my multiply.
Now I’m in manila and I haven’t recorded nor sang any songs and my guitar is accumulating more dust…
Well here’s to coming back to music!
