The old saying goes that there’s wisdom gained from getting old like for example you learn that there are things you just can’t change. That there are hard situations that makes you a better person no matter how heartbreaking that was.
There are tons and tons to learn while getting older, the more complex it gets the deeper the feeling of regret or appreciation afterwards.
You notice that some things you lost when you were young are not the ones’ you’re willing to keep for the rest of your life.
And sometimes the meaning of contentment is parallel to how much you appreciate the life you live each day.
The struggle to be better in every work, play, intelligence, and the competition thereof becomes diminished only to be replaced with the realization that time is of the essence and you look back hoping that you should’ve had more time doing the things you wanted more.
when you grow old, some things are lost while some things are gained. Your outlook in life becomes more complex as you meet new people and gain more friends while cutting ties with the past only honoring them as vestiges of a great struggle to become yourself right now.
Getting old is never an easy task and sometimes its a daunting truth that those who chose to live their lives are more courageous than those who chose to end theirs. That the power to touch other peoples lives and make a difference makes this life given to you made worthy.
I can’t say that I was happier or livelier than i was before but I can say that my sleep gets shorter and I’ve become more modest and forgiving of myself than before… perhaps wiser =)
