What I find it really bothering is when you are trying to explain your side with regards to the government being corrupt and the President losing her moral ascendancy to rule and a very huge chance of a dictatorship and all of a sudden the person you’re talking to would blurt out the usual “Who would replace her-they are all corrupt-nobody cares about the country anymore anyway” dialogue.
Then you realize the person doesn’t read anything of the things you’re talking about, and the person doesn’t even update him/herself of the current events not to mention even look back at what really happened in 2004 and give an honest and objective analysis of it.
The feeling is like swallowing a sea urchin and having a diarrhea after drinking tons of milk and suffering from lactose intolerance.
The next thing you know you are explaining again everything from top to bottom and then they’d still stick to their guns because of their “opinionated criticism”.
Thing is they don’t even care to investigate for themselves and yet they come up with criticisms against the rallyists and the sympathizers of Lozada.
Not that I would want them to always agree with what I talk about, but I think if they are going to say something bad about something or put Lozada down at least let them do their assignments first.
I remember the last time I had the same conversation I just told the person to read more and research more and not just stick to his/her “scientific opinion” on why Lozada is a good actor or that GMA should still be in power until 2010.
This is the lesson I learned hard and had a huge impact to me back in High school when my english teacher asked me a definition from a word in the dictionary and I can’t give her a straight answer, only basing the definition out of context. I can remember when she looked me in the eye and told me to please look at a dictionary before I open my mouth. it is a hard lesson really but it left an indelible mark in my mind to not let interpretations get the best of me and get some hard facts to back up my opinions.
I remember the same story in the bible when Jesus was asked by the Rabbis and the men around him on certain things about heaven and earth and if indeed he was the messiah.
He told them “What does the scriptures tell you?”
The same thing should be said of cynical minds and people putting down Lozada and the opposition.
“What does Hello Garci, E.O. 464, P.D. 1081, S.C. ruling 9-6 tell you?”
And if they still don’t see why GMA should go and if they still don’t realize the graveness of the situation.
Then God Bless their souls.
