“And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?” – Luke 6:39
To the CBCP Bishops,
Beloved Bishops of The Catholic Church.
I read your Pastoral Statement and I can’t help but think of what went wrong in the Catholic Church.
I can understand your search for truth, that you profess that you came as pastors and not as politicians “whose vocation (it) is to order society towards the common good.”
But what I can’t understand is why you stand by the side of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who’s been curtailing truth, has murdered, maimed, and corrupted the entire country and its institutions. And who is clearly not ordering society towards the common good.
Yes, your church and priests stands by her in all these.
Yes because you give her the benefit of time, because you’d rather pray for discernment while not doing anything to keep the evil out of office and have an immediate stop to all the injustices she has afforded our country.
I do not understand why people of virtue would keep such people as arrogantly a liar and cheat to wander your churches and partake of your communions.
I also do not understand why instead of looking at the experiences of Jun Lozada alongside the statements of Philip Alston, (UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial killings) you would rather look at the experience of keeping GMA in power as if waiting for the time when our country is on the verge of a major disaster and people will ask for blood instead of a peaceful revolution.
How many more Filipinos do you want to be robbed? How many more Filipinos do you want to loose their families because they can’t find jobs in the country? How many more filipinos would you want to join armed groups and in the process loose their lives?
How many more Catholics would you expose to a leader that is corrupt and indifferent to their needs and rights?
I beseech you dear Fathers to stand up for what is right. To work hand in hand for what is noble and just.
I pray that in your hearts and minds you will realize that no amount of evil can clean itself, that there’s a limit to a human being whose goal is to terrorize its citizenry by brute military force and massive bribes.
Let me remind you that GMA has reigned for too long without ever feeling sorry or being accountable for her sins to God and the people. The only time she was even at the least trying to be sorry was when she was desperately clinging for power and again curtailing the chance to prove her innocence through proper channels by virtue of E.O. 464.
While I applaud you on recommending the abolition of E.O. 464, I do not see any reason why you do not recommend GMA to step down from office.
If your council has adamantly announced its sympathy on looking for the truth, then why else not look for the restoration of integrity in Malakanyang starting with the removal of the “Evil” President?
And if you are so problematic on whos’ going to replace Her then why not search for somebody that qualifies for the position? One whos’ not corrupt and has the conscience to stand answerable to the moral foundations of your Church and people. One whose records are not tainted with blood?
The time to move is now Dear Fathers. let us make an example out of her.
That the power of the people is the power to put down inept government officials when they are not doing their job well.
Dear Fathers I believe that even the children of Abraham moved out of Egypt not by prayers alone but as they walked on to the promised land.
That action with prayers can scourge the evil that is bringing down this nation. The evil that is scaring the people. The evil that is attending masses inside your churches and partaking of the body and blood of Christ.
The EVIL that is Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

we want and long for another cardinal sin. we want and long for another pope john paul II. you cannot be sheep in the midst of wolves… even as shepherds, you must stand like lions to protect your flock.
Hi will, I think what we need is not just another Sin or another Pope John Paul II I think we need more of ourselves than other people.
touche. u’ve got it perfectly.
will: Thanks for the compliment ^_^
even the devil can quote a scripture… whatever happened to Mr. Lozada.
Is this an example of how a shepherd leads his flock?
Even if it is already known that there is a separation between the Church and the state, it is STILL the moral responsibility of the Church to address these kinds of issues.
Lozada was a victim of an insensitive masses plus the inability of the church to rally behind what is true and honorable… he’s still out its just that nobody choose to listen to him… I’m afraid there will come a time that there will be no more Lozadas but more of GMA’s…
